The Normal uninstall is designed with the assumption that you will be re-installing Office. Method 2 in this tip does a more thorough job that the "normal" uninstall via Programs and Features (aka Method 1 in the tip). NOTE: 2 people have said that the Fix It in method 2 would not run in Windows 8. (make copy of your NORMAL.DOTM, EXCEL.XLSM, and for 2010 QAT: Excel.officeui and Word.officeui if you have done any customization).

What can I do to properly remove the 64-bit OfficeĬomponents completely off my computer so I can get my business software working with my computer. I cannot see anything about the MS-Access Runtime running at 64-bit. Of MS Office 64-bit options still sitting there. However, when I look in the installer folder I can see some I have checked my office programs, word, excel, outlook an they all say 32-bit version. I then run a system compatibility test for my business software and it is still saying that I am running 64-bit office and I cannot run my business software which is causing me great problems!! I un-installed the MS office 64-bit version and the MS-Access runtime 64-bit and re-installed the 32-bit versions for both. I later found out that my business software is not compatible with 64-bit versions of office and I could only run 32-bit version. I installed 64-bit MS Office 2010 Standard onto my computer and MS-Access Runtime 2010 64-bit version.
